According to reporter of Shafaqna in Qom, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Mohaghegh Damad stated today before noon about the importance of justice in Islam at the third Commemoration conference of his eminence Great Ayatollah Mousavi Ardebili (may Allah rest his soul in peace) on the Role of Judicial System in National Development at Mofid University: This importance has been raised in various dimensions and in Islam, the Judiciary is the most important post after the caliphate.
He added: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and Amir al-Momenin (peace be upon him) used to appoint people as judges during their caliphate, indicating that only the Imam can appoint judges.
A member of the board of trustees of Mofid University, said: "Amir al-Momenin (peace be upon him) told Malek Ashtar to elect judges among the best people.
He said: Human actions also affect nature, and if the judge’s decision is wrong, he will cause many problems and challenges in society, in addition to being cursed by Allah.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Mohaghegh Damad considered judging to be the most important position in Islam and pointed out: If wrong judgments were intentionally or unintentionally made by the non-proficient, they would cause loss and this indicates the importance of judging in Islam, although these traditions may not have been specific to Muslims and it is true in other societies as well.
